Conference program

“Next Generation Pathology” – this motto is the driving force behind the organization of the annual meeting of the German Society for Pathology (DGP) 2024 in Munich.

The chosen motto now has – in an unplanned way – a double meaning. As an interdisciplinary, future-oriented team, consisting of pathologists and non-pathologists, organize the conference 2024 in Munich in memory of their late institute director and conference president, Prof. Wilko Weichert.

Together with him, they defined the future topics for German pathology that are essential in their view and have set these topics as interdisciplinary priorities for their annual conference.

Molecular pathology is the basis for personalized, patient-centered diagnostics and therapy. The interaction of clinical colleagues with pathologists and the individual interdisciplinary case discussion, including somatic molecular findings, is an essential field of development of today’s medicine – in oncology and beyond.
