Open Science Initiative

Accelerating Spatial Biology Together

At Lunaphore, we are dedicated to accelerating spatial biology research by promoting researcher collaboration and finding dissemination.

By promoting transparency, collaboration, and accessibility in scientific endeavours, open science is key to unlocking innovation and accelerating progress in research. For this purpose, we are proud to announce the launch of the Open Science Initiative.

What is the Open Science Initiative?

This program aims to reinforce the collaborations and dissemination of findings of researchers working with COMETthrough the support of travel and open-access publication fees.

Who can apply and which support can you obtain?

The program is open to any COMET™ user that generated data on the platform.

  • For COMET™ data accepted for a poster presentation or talk at a scientific conference, the selected applicant will be supported with a travel grant of 500 USD and 2000 USD respectively.
  • For COMET™ data included in a manuscript currently in the late reviewing process for publication in a peer-reviewed journal with open-access options, the selected applicant will be supported with full coverage of the open-access publication fees from the journal.

Why contribute to open science?

Break down barriers to knowledge.
Increase the impact of your research.
Empower the global research community.

How does it work?

Submit your application for travel or open-access publication fees support online using the forms below and receive feedback within 10 working days after review by internal Lunaphore scientists. All data disclosed in the forms is strictly confidential and only visible to internal reviewing experts. The selected applications will receive a reimbursement of their travel or open-access fees support within the monetary thresholds detailed below.

For questions or inquiries, please send an email to [email protected].

Note that all applications will not be automatically supported. All applications are subjected to review and approval.

Interested in contributing to open science?

Apply now to our program by filling out the form below.

Applications are welcome throughout the year. However, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible for travel support, as multiple authors might submit applications for the same event. We also encourage applicants to apply for open-access fee support as soon as they are notified of their manuscript acceptance to obtain an answer within the journal publication fee payment window.

We commit to providing applicants with a response within 10 business days. However, during holidays, the timeline may be extended to 15 business days.

If you submitted an abstract containing COMET™ data that has been accepted for a talk or poster presentation at a local or international scientific meeting and that you comply with the Program Terms, you are eligible to apply for travel support.

No, you need to be the presenter of the talk or the poster containing COMET ™ data.

No, the only scientific information required to apply is a high-level description of the integrated COMET™ data. Confidential data on study findings is not required and should not be communicated during form filling. Please read the Program Terms for more information on confidentiality and intellectual property.
