The Spatial Biology Tour 2023

Hello Europe! The Spatial Biology Tour™ starts here. This seminar series will make a stop at various academic research institutions across the continent to introduce the spatial revolution to the scientific community.

Join The Spatial Biology Tour™ at a nearby city if you want to learn:

  • How spatial biology is used in research areas such as immuno-oncology, neuroscience, immunology and infectious diseases;
  • How to leverage your existing antibody libraries when performing high-parameter spatial tissue analysis;
  • The benefits of an end-to-end spatial biology solution to interrogate your samples and extract biological insights.

The seminars will feature talks, product demonstrations and networking sessions. Check the detailed program below and find a city near you.

What is the registration cost? Is it necessary?
Registration for the event is free and it is required to join the seminar room.

I’d like to attend. How do I register?
To register, simply fill in the form at the bottom at the page.

Can I attend online and/or will the talks be recorded?
No, The Spatial Biology Tour™ is an in-person event only.

I have a question/need support regarding an upcoming seminar.
Please send your message to [email protected].

My city/area is not in the list, but I am interested in hosting a Spatial Biology Tour event.
Our mission is to bring spatial biology to every laboratory. We would be happy to visit additional cities. Please contact [email protected].

Clinician Scientist and Pathologist

The Institute of Cancer Research London

Dr. Bora Gurel completed his medical degree at Ankara University and specialized in pathology at Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Turkey. Driven by an interest in prostate cancer research, he undertook a molecular pathology fellowship at the De Marzo lab at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore. There, his investigations honed in on the molecular underpinnings of prostate cancer and the role of inflammation in its early stages.
Currently at the Institute of Cancer Research in London, Dr. Gurel's work pivots towards understanding the inflammatory mechanisms associated with castration-resistant prostate cancers (CRPC). His research has led to contributions in several notable publications in the field of prostate cancer.

Lunaphore Technologies

Joanna got fascinated by cell biology during her master’s degree studies at Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland. Afterwards she joined Institut Curie, Paris, France, where she developed a proteomic cartography of extracellular vesicles in the frame of her Ph.D. research project. She obtained a Ph.D. degree from Université Paris Descartes in 2016. During her postdoctoral training at the University of Lausanne, Joanna interrogated the interaction within the tumor microenvironment with a focus on immune and malignant cells in the context of primary brain tumors. She joined Lunaphore in 2020 and since then works on bringing spatial biology to every laboratory.

Charlotte Stadler, Ph.D.

Co-Director of the Spatial Biology Platform, Head of Spatial Proteomics

SciLifeLab

Charlotte Stadler is a co-director of the Spatial Biology Platform at Science for Life Laboratory. She is also the Head of the National Spatial Proteomics facility. She received her Ph.D. in 2012 within the framework of the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project, with Prof. Emma Lundberg and Prof. Mathias Uhlén as her supervisors. During her PhD she established many of the protocols and pipelines for image based subcellular protein profiling that are used in the Human Protein Cell Atlas.
Today, her main focus is to develop and implement services and technologies that can be offered by the Spatial Proteomics Facility. Her internal research projects focus on the implementation of multiplexed imaging solutions into clinical practice but also on integrating different omics types for a more complete molecular understanding of the tissue sample biology.
